IUCN Pakistan Members
IUCN Pakistan membership has grown from eight in 1990 to 24 today. These include Government of Pakistan as a state member, six government organisations and 18 NGO members. More than 80 volunteers from Pakistan work on the network of IUCN’s (scientific) Commissions. IUCN Pakistan works closely with the membership and the commissions’ representatives in Pakistan. This collaboration takes various forms: participation in programme planning, joint projects, complementing each other’s work, implementing projects for one another, collaboration of advocacy around key issues such as protected areas, and support in fund raising. The relationship with the membership has further evolved following the formation of Pakistan National Committee (PNC) by the members in Pakistan. IUCNP consults PNC on all key issues and looks forward to working with a large number of other partners. These include research and teaching institutions, government departments, chambers of commerce and industry, law networks, media, and NGOs.
